This was an .... interesting... concert. First of all, this was shortly before John Egan (flutist) was kicked out of the band, and the only other "real" member of the band left was Ed Wynne (who does everything). This was my first time seeing them, but it was obvious they were nothing like they were 15 or 10 years ago. John was so completely out of it - I could barely hear him, and I'm not sure he really knew what was going on or what he was supposed to be playing.
And there was a lot of drug use going on! I mean, some of the employees were lighting up. Joints got tossed on stage. I've never been to a concert where the security was that lax on the matter.
The highlight of the show was getting to see Lotus - who are 10 times better live than on their first two CDs. I've become a big Lotus fan since then, because of seeing them. Also, this was back in the day when I (and Lotus) had long hair - and more than one fan (who I assume came to see Ozric Tentacles) thought I was in the band... I don't know why, other than that I had long hair.
