I had been dying to see Rush since I first heard them when I was maybe 14... My dad and I left with about an hour and a half to spare, to meet up with Nick and Dave Rubin at the venue (where they were waiting for us with the tickets).

Then there was a huge accident on I-95 south. Even with our padding time, we were late - nothing we could do! To make things worse, it was raining buckets at the pavilion, and we got soaked on the way in, about 3 or 4 songs into Rush's set. After that, things went fairly well. I bought a shirt, just so I had a dry one!

As for the music, I pretty much knew what to expect from hearing Different Stages, and then their new album. Geddy's singing style has changed over the years, but not necessarily in a good or bad way. I think Alex has gotten sloppier. Neil was of course amazing, and I would always walk through the rain just to see his solo. The music hardly diverts from what you would hear on a CD at all though, and you find yourself watching the videos they put up on the screen more than the performers... More of a "show" than a "concert" in that sense, I guess.
