Yellow to light orange in color; the color of Oktober. A nice white head is created with a decent amount of sustainability, given the style. Unfortunately, for the most part the taste and smell are rather lacking. Certainly nothing offensive, but there is hardly any presence here. I am not sure what else to say about these aspects - there just isn't much to it. Surely there is some bite here, and I do have allergies to go with the season, but I expect better from Paulaner. Their doppelbock is far superior, if I may compare apples to oranges.
